This is one of the competitions where the difficulty of half iron triathlon meets the beauty of the nature. Styria, in the South-Eastern part of Austria has many great features, while the event delivers a huge challenge to the participants: 2 km swim, 86 km bike, 20 km run. Of course, about 70% of my work is being done in German language, the rest of 30% contains some English and Hungarian. The majority of the triathletes here come from Austria, Slovenia and Italy. A great weekend every year!

There was no time to relax last weekend. On Saturday I presented a triathlon in Austria, then I caught a flight to Bucharest to host the half-marathon on Sunday. Well, about the triathlon: it's a beloved race held in Styria not far from Graz, at the lake called Röcksee. There are 200 starters each year. They begin with 2 km swim, then they continue with 86 km bike and they complete also 20 km of running before they cross the finish line. It was a rainy day this time but it was funny! I even used some Italian phrases as a surprise to the "ragazzis" who won some of the categories. In the general rankings, it was the Ukrainian Andrii Onyshchenko who won the men's race, while local hero Michaela Wolf gained gold medal in the ladies' competition.

There were some heroic iron men and women who competed at the Austrian 1/2 Iron Triathlon last Saturday. With 280 people from 11 different countries, the Styrian competition guaranteed a spectacular experience. It all began with an exhausting 2 km long swimming leg. Afterwards, there was a great cycling part measuring 86 km and a decisive showdown with 21 km of running. It was a fantastic event where I had the honor to entertain respectively infotain people performing a 3 language commentary (EN, DE, HU).
