If you think that just the runners face a huge challenge when they participate in a marathon, then you're wrong. Even the organisers, volunteers and the speakers have a lot of work while they are working at a marathon. I spoke for about 7 hours last Sunday at the Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon where the fastest man, Kenyan athlete Ndiwa Sakong set a new track record (2:17:12). Congratulations to all the five thousand participants and to all the people involved!

Such a great party at the end of the year! Japanese company Nissin hired me for another Christmas party as a presenter. Their instant food factory in Kecskemét provides job opportunities for hundreds of people in the region. They play an important role in the foreign investments systems in Hungary, their expansion is continuous. Congratulations to them for their success, I see them growing every time I meet them in December.

The greatest summer race of my home region, Szeklerland, came to its 17th edition. We had a magnificent competition with Martin Messner (Austria) who took the lead at the very last stage and gained the most important jersey of the event, by a margin of just 5 seconds. Tour of Szeklerland is unique with its beautiful landscape and nice hospitality. It was the case this year as well when 90 riders lined up at the start. Congratulations to all the people involved!

The 13th edition of the Cycling Tour of Sibiu was definitely one of the greatest races ever in this region of Europe. Not just because of the fact that many stars came to compete here this year as well, just like Sam Bennett (BORA-Hangsrohe) who won 2 stages out of 5, but mostly because of the fact that we had to wait until the very and of the Tour to find out the winner in the general classification. After his victory at Balea Lac, Lennert van Eetvelt (Lotto) had the best chances to stay in the yellow jersey, but after his puncture one day later, he had to accept a dramatic scenario. Before the last stage, an ITT in the historical centre of Sibiu, there were 4 riders separated by only 6 seconds, and it was Mark Donovan (Q36.5) who rode fastest among them. It was the Briton who won the 13th edition, ending the BORA-supremacy after three years. What a great race, I was happy to be a part of it, at least 2 thousand people came to celebrate with the winners at the awards ceremony.

I took the flight Vienna-Bucharest on Saturday, right after the triathlon where I worked on that day, to arrive on time to the Romanian capital for the Half Marathon scheduled for Sunday. It was worth it. The event gathered thousands of runners at the start and there was a lot to celebrate at the finish as well because Yerga Berihun (Ethiopia) set a new track record (1:00:55). It was a great atmosphere out there, people were cheering on the runners on the entire course. I will be back in October for the marathon in the same city. Can't wait!

There was no time to relax last weekend. On Saturday I presented a triathlon in Austria, then I caught a flight to Bucharest to host the half-marathon on Sunday. Well, about the triathlon: it's a beloved race held in Styria not far from Graz, at the lake called Röcksee. There are 200 starters each year. They begin with 2 km swim, then they continue with 86 km bike and they complete also 20 km of running before they cross the finish line. It was a rainy day this time but it was funny! I even used some Italian phrases as a surprise to the "ragazzis" who won some of the categories. In the general rankings, it was the Ukrainian Andrii Onyshchenko who won the men's race, while local hero Michaela Wolf gained gold medal in the ladies' competition.

Even if it's hard to believe, there are about 20 000 people who participate in the competition called Ultrabalaton each year. Now I had the pleasure to present the start of the relays consisting of 5-13 runners. It's crazy I know but believe me, from 3 AM to 6 PM there were starts given in every minute. It was a hard task for me as well, but the atmosphere was great and it helped a lot! The Ultrabalaton is a running race with a total distance of 210 km around the largest lake of Hungary.

6-time Olympic champions, Tobias Arlt and Tobias Wendl (luge, Germany) came to Austria to be distinguished guests of the Neusiedlersee Radmarathon, a cycling race for amateur cyclist in Eastern Austria, the region called Burgenland. It was a great success as more than 1500 participants completed the 126 km long distance around Lake Neusiedl. It was an honour to be the host of this event, especially because of the fact that a good friend of mine originally from my hometown Csíkszereda, Botond Bagoly finished third in his category.

Just like every year, the marathon held in the largest city of Transylvania gathers thousands of people to the start of the event. This year, a number of 4 thousand runners came to participate in the races held on Sunday. Kenyan athletes won the traditional event but there were many other expats who stepped on the podium (a lot of internationals work in Cluj in the field of IT). It was one of the motivating facts that top 3 runners of each category received free entry cards for the first day of the Athletics World Championships, to be held in Budapest this August.

What a fantastic memory! It was a highlight for me this season that I had the opportunity to present the famous Ultrabalaton race in Hungary. Thousands of runners completed a 220 km long distance around Lake Balaton. I met them at the start line where freshness, emotion and team spirit is at the highest level.

Dear Friends, Athletes, Event Organisers and Fans!
Health and safety must always be our absolute priority in life. Protection, care, respect and patience will guide us in the following period of time.
As you all know, mass events are being cancelled or postponed these days, and this affects also the sport events where we used to meet regularly. We have to accept that the competitions and sport gatherings we loved so much in the spring time will take place later this year (according to the plans and hopes of the organisers). Let's hope that we will pass this global test and we'll gather at the start of our beloved event in the future, sooner or later.

2 km swim, 86 km bike, 20 km run - that's the distance which has to be completed by the participants of the Austrian 1/2 Iron Triathlon, not far away from the city of Graz in Styria. I was glad to be there as a multilingual presenter.

It is always a great pleasure to present the races of the Bucharest International Marathon in Romania. The event is organized in front of the Parliament which is the second largest administrative building in the world (after The Pentagon). There are thousands of runners glad to participate, I am glad to hold the microphone. All the time, every year!

I have just told Paolo, the race director of the running events in Bucharest, that he is like Christmas and Easter in my life. I always know that I meet him twice a year: at the half marathon in May and at the marathon in October. It was a pleasure and of course an honour to be a part of the event this season as well. The organizers and the young volunteers have gathered a lot of experience and I can see that the race is growing year by year. Congratulations to all the people who got involved, and of course all the athletes who came to run on the streets of Bucharest. We had more than 10,000 participants on Sunday! What a nice weekend!

Bucharest Running Club held its 6th Half Marathon in the Romanian capital city. This time, a number of 14,000 runners participated in the event, taking part in one of the competitions scheduled for Sunday: 21 km, 10 km, 3 km. We had some great vibe, an epic atmosphere as a lady from the host country, Ancuta Bobocel, managed to win the Half-Marathon in front of the home crowd. The winner of the men's competition, an athlete from Ethiopia, has set a new competition record, 1:01:08.

The 26th edition of the Neusiedl Lake Cycling Marathon was attended by 1000 riders. They had to complete a 125 km long stage around the lake which is located between Austria and Hungary.
